Cheniah says her love for cooking has always been a source of joy and an expression of creativity. It also reflects her detail-oriented approach to her career at Qorvo’s facilities in Greensboro, NC.
Growing up in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Cheniah spent countless hours in the kitchen experimenting with recipes and learning the art of patience and precision. “I love cooking because it allows me to try new things and perfect them,” she said. “It’s about the process—getting all the details right and adjusting when something doesn’t go as planned. I find a lot of similarities between that and what I do at work.” It’s an approach that helps her excel in her role at Qorvo, where attention to detail and adaptability are essential.
Cheniah’s journey into tech began at North Carolina A&T State University, where she studied Industrial and Systems Engineering. “I’ve always been someone who likes solving problems and finding better ways to do things,” she explained. That proactive approach led her to multiple Qorvo internships, which turned into opportunities that played out at a college career fair.
“At the career fair, I remember thinking, ‘Why not go for it?’ I wanted to see what this field and Qorvo were all about,” she adds. That decision paid off, as it provided her with the chance to apply her skills in a real-world setting. She called it an eye-opener, “Getting hands-on experience at Qorvo during my internships made me realize how much I liked a fast-paced and innovative environment.”
These days, Cheniah plays a crucial role in optimizing processes and ensuring smooth operations across teams both inside and outside the company. “It’s a little like cooking,” she said with a smile. “You have to balance those flavors and textures like balancing priorities, solving complex challenges and making quick adjustments when things don't go as planned. It’s rewarding when everything comes together, whether that’s in the kitchen or on a project I’m working on.
“In my day-to-day work, I am a liaison between internal and external customers and create critical training documentation for my team. Also, I am always performing complex monthly processes to get the forecast passed down the line to the experts.”
When outside of work, if Cheniah’s not in the kitchen, she’s on the field. She enjoys playing soccer, participating in book clubs and exploring new hobbies. “I love trying new things,” she says. “Whether it’s a new sport or learning something new at work, I’m always looking for ways to grow.”
For now, Cheniah is focused on savoring the process--both in the kitchen and at work--finding joy in the details and excitement in the challenges. "Whether it's perfecting a recipe or finding the right solution at work, I enjoy the journey," she said.
