Our intelligent motor controller technology can be used in a wide array of robotics and automation applications. This high-performance application relies on a high speed MCU with lots of memory along with high-voltage motor and gate drive circuity. The PAC platform provides all of this in a single IC, to make a high-performance robotics application possible in a space constrained environment.
Qorvo's high-voltage SiC FETs are capable of higher operating frequency than traditional Silicon IGBTs due to their low switching losses. This alleviates thermal management challenges and enables designers to build integrated motor drives where the power electronics is integrated into/onto the motor itself. This produces a more compact system that is also free from the associated connectors, cables and separate drive cabinet enclosures. As a result, factory automation robots and cobots become less expensive and more robust to system noise.
