Qorvo’s power management products can be found in many home appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines. These products traditionally require many different components to implement on the controller PCB, such as a high-voltage DC/DC converter, gate drivers, signal conditioning and accurate timekeeping. Qorvo’s PAC family controllers integrates all of these functions into a single IC as small as 8 x 8 mm. Flyback and Buck power topologies are supported as are protection features such as overcurrent / undervoltage / overvoltage driver shutdown.

Qorvo's SiC power FETs and Schottky diodes enable higher efficiency AC-DC PFC (power factor correction) front-end converters and motor drive inverters in air-conditioners and other white goods. With very low reverse recovery, SiC FETs enable emerging high-efficiency power topologies such as Totem pole PFC whereas SiC Schottky diodes find a place in the traditional boost PFC architectures. SiC FETs also greatly reduce the switching losses versus traditional Silicon IGBTs in motor drive inverters thus helping designers to build smaller and more energy efficient products.
