Our intelligent motor controllers allow battery-powered garden tools to power larger motors for longer periods of time. With battery voltages from 48 V to 120 V, these systems and their associated large currents are difficult and expensive to design for when using discrete components. Qorvo’s PAC family of controllers support this type of equipment by integrating a high-performance MCU, high power gate drivers and DC/DC controllers. This can significantly reduce system cost and physical size for this type of equipment.
AC-DC battery chargers and AC line-powered corded tools can greatly benefit from the low on-resistance and excellent switching speed of Qorvo's high-voltage SiC FETs and Schottky diodes to achieve high-density designs. With a broad portfolio of SiC power devices available in different on-resistance and current capabilities across various packages, power designers can reduce charging time of cordless tools and minimize size, weight & cost of corded power tools.
