Pumps & Compressors

Qorvo’s power management products can be found in many industrial pumps and compressors. These products traditionally require many different components to implement on the controller PCB, such as a DC/DC converter, gate drivers, signal conditioning and accurate timekeeping. Qorvo’s PAC family controllers integrates all of these functions into a single IC as small as 8 x 8 mm. Flyback and Buck power topologies are supported as are protection features such as overcurrent / undervoltage / overvoltage driver shutdown.

Qorvo's high-voltage SiC FETs greatly reduce the switching losses versus traditional Silicon IGBTs in the inverter drives of compressors and pumps, thus helping designers to build smaller and more energy efficient motor products. Furthermore, availability of SiC power devices in surface mount packages allows automated assembly methods thus minimizing production costs.
