GREENSBORO, NC – January 6, 2021 – Qorvo® (Nasdaq:QRVO), a leading provider of innovative solutions that connect and power the world, today announced that its QM28014 cellular/satellite/Wi-Fi antenna-plexer has won the 2020 Product of the Year from ASPENCORE's World Electronics Achievement Awards (WEAA) in the RF/Wireless/Microwave category. The award recognizes Qorvo's unique offering that enables new industrial designs for cellular devices by reducing the number of antennas needed.
"Antenna-plexers provide an elegant solution to the architectural problem all wireless device manufacturers face, especially with 5G -- accommodating growing RF complexity while the available real estate for antennas shrinks," said Eric Creviston, president of Qorvo Mobile Products. "This accolade is a testament to both our design team's exceptional talent and Qorvo's leadership in developing innovative RFFE technologies and products that optimize system performance."
ASPENCORE’S World Electronics Achievement Awards honor companies and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the innovation and the development of the electronics industry worldwide. ASPENCORE’s unique collection of media properties includes EETimes, EDN and Electronic Products.
Qorvo's winning entry, the QM28014 MHB, GNSS and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi antenna-plexer, utilizes Qorvo BAW filters and reduces overall footprint by almost 50% over a discrete implementation. This antenna-plexer also reduces GNSS Time to First Fix (TTFF) and improves satellite connectivity over alternative solutions by reducing the overall insertion loss caused by mismatch, cascading filters and additional routing. Leading manufacturers have successfully eliminated an additional antenna by leveraging Qorvo’s QM28014 while also improving system performance.
